I was hoping to blog a little more tonight but after the last two days, I’m feelin’ a bit worn and can barely keep my head up if I stop for anything longer than a few minutes.  EDIT:  I stopped to shower and am feeling a bit more lively now but it may not last for long; we shall see, we shall see.

As I was starting to say, Scotty and I have been working quite a bit the last two days with the students capturing their “day in the life” and I’ve stored away about 1200 images during that brief time.  At that rate,,,, let me figure this,,,,I may end up with roughly 5000 images! Not bad, not bad at all.

After a long day of shooting and a late dinner tonight, Scotty and I decided to take a cab back to the hotel while Stephen and Scott hoofed it, which I’m sure was a very nice stroll, but I just wasn’t feelin’ it.  My mind was on a long hot shower and I wanted to get to as soon as I could.  As we were getting in a cab, or rather, as we were hailing one down, a fella came up to us begging for money.  He said quite nicely that he needed it for food but I thought his very red eyes possibly told another story.  I said for a photo I’d give him a little and of course he obliged.  I rarely, if ever, give money for photos but at this very moment I didn’t care and felt that if anything it was merely a moment of coincidental passing in time, nothing more, nothing less.  He wanted a couple bucks and I wanted to capture his face. We both got what we wanted.  As I look at this image now however, I find a softness in him I hadn’t noticed earlier.  I now realize I wish I would’ve spent more time with him, regardless of how tired I was.

  5. my thoughts were immediately taken to so many statues of the Christ on the Cross, that sweetness mentioned above, the hope for something better, yet the pain of endurance. Beautiful.
