Tonight, as I’m tidying up the last bits of editing on my South American assignment for ACU, I look back and I’m loving every little memory and bit of opportunity experienced.

One of those opportunities came to me before heading to Uruguay.  I spent two days on campus and I was given the task of photographing around the ACU grounds; the main objective was capturing students just doing their thing.  Let me tell you, it’s a bit unnerving walking straight up to students asking to take their picture when they have no clue who you are.  But in the end, I didn’t freak anyone out and actually met some great kids.  I was also asked to get some architectural shots, and Ron, my editor, gave me a cart to drive around to make things more efficient.  Little did he know that it was kind of fun dodging students as I plowed my way through chasing that light!  Just kiddin’ Ron.

I had a great time searching for all the right angles-no pun intended-and I loved watching as the setting Texas sun just bathed the buildings in a warm glow.  I’ve never been much of an architectural photographer, although back in college I did study some interior designing and was on the fast track to becoming a cad artist,,,but still, what do I know.
