It’s been a long time since I’ve enjoyed sitting in front of the computer just playing with images.

I usually start arranging photos to blog but half way through I find myself distracted and wandering my hard drive looking at faces of friends I’ve captured at one time or another. I’m realizing I have a lot of pictures of friends and realizing even more how lucky I am that I have friends who understand my need to have my camera with me at all times, not to mention the patience they have with me sticking it in their face, often.

Brandie is someone I’ve known for quite a while and even though we seem to randomly find each other months or even years apart in time, we always reconnect like we were only talking the day before. We never skip a beat and I’m always glad when we find the time for drinks and catching up.
She’s one of those friends I’m sure will be helping me along when I’m old and frail still trying with all my might to lift my camera to my eye.

Thank you Brandie for always being there, now and whenever.

If I remember correctly, Bob said he came across the deer buried under snow and brush and realized it was a kill. After setting up his camera, he returned a day or so later to see what he might have captured, and this was one of those awesome frames. You can see the buck’s antlers in the lower left of the frame and the rest of it buried right in front of the cat. And look at that beautiful beast of a cat, relaxing on a nice winter afternoon, it absolutely makes me smile.

Whenever I think of moving away from Montana something always pops up reminding me of the wonderment I have at my doorstep. Montana is reffered to, among other things, “The Last Best Place,” “The Treasure State,” (early reference to our rich mining history) and “Big Sky Country”.
And while I sometimes forget the roots of those titles, I’m easily reminded by images and stories like this.

I truly love Montana and miss being out there in the wilds of it all. I just need to get out more, just do it,,,, DOOOO IT! I’m not getting younger either so climbing those mountains ain’t gonna get any easier!

A couple of frames from our last hang-out together, way too long ago, where we spent our time sipping wine from jelly jars, talking late into the night about photography, life and love, and come morning, where we surrendered ourselves to a soul satisfying breakfast at Stella’s.

Time in the late fall sun, the cool earth under me and long sleeping grasses to wade through; the minutes spent here were just enough to help me find a good night’s sleep.

Definitely need more of that kind of stuff. Yep.
