Johnny No Matter

Welcome to my new blog!!! I’m so excited to have it up before I head to South America tomorrow. It’s not completely finished and I have some fine polishes to make, but from now on, you may now follow all my adventures here!

So, as many of you know, I’m heading to South America tomorrow for work assigned to me by Ron Hadfield, my favorite editor.  I had actually never met Ron in person until this week and I’m grateful for the opportunities he’s bestowed on me and ever grateful for the trust he’s put into me and my work.  I’ve spent the last two days working on the ACU Campus shooting images for use in recruiting brochures and such and I’ve had a great time meeting people from all over.  And although I’m extremely beat tonight and heading to bed early, I’m filled with a happiness that wouldn’t have come to me in any other way had I not been here experiencing all I have.

While adventuring around these last two days, I especially had a great time talking with a culinary artist who is originally from Louisiana.  Meet Johnny, or John-no matter what you call him-he says, he just loves cookin’ and that’s all there is to that.  And I love eatin’ his makings!  He loves cooking for the kids and it shows as I watched him interact with them all through the lunch hour.  ”Hey brother” is how he greets most and how he would greet me.  And when he said it, you could tell he meant it. He’s a down to earth guy and he has heart.  And that heart of his goes into his cooking.  His Andouille scalloped potatoes were absolutely the best I’ve ever had and the spicy chicken that sat next to it was just as succulent and juicy as ever I’m sure it should be.  If I wasn’t in heaven, I was passed out at the gates!  Johnny, as I like callin’ him, was great to talk with although it wasn’t as long as I wish it could’ve been.  I’ll not soon forget his artistry.

Thanks Johnny for taking the time to chat and I’ll see you again brother!
